Bathsheba
During Advent, we focus our hearts and minds on the first coming of Christ, even as we long for and look forward to His second coming, when He shall make all things new.
To help us with this, we take the four Sundays before Christmas to consider the many ways that God taught His people to believe in and hope for that day. Most years, we look at specific prophecies or even just Matthew or Luke's telling of Christ's birth.
This year, however, we are going to take a different look and consider the women. It is true that Christ was descended (as far as His human nature) from a line of Kings and rulers and patriarchs. But every one of them had a mother, and though the Scripture doesn't say much, it tells us enough for us to see these women's faith on display, as well.
